According to KXAN, Austin Police are looking for the driver who crashed into a woman crossing the street and then fled the scene on New Year’s Day.

Police reports stated that a group of people were crossing the street on the corner of 7th Street and the Interstate 35 Frontage Road when a truck struck a woman in the crosswalk. A passenger from the truck got out to check on the pedestrian while the driver stayed in the vehicle, but he shortly returned to the truck, and they both fled the scene of the crash.

The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge Hospital for the injuries she sustained.

The suspect was driving a silver or light colored, newer model Toyota Tacoma. Anyone with information is asked to call the Austin Police Department Leaving the Scene Unit at 512-974-6935.
